- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- The course continues in the basic training in immunology and develops knowledge in recognition of pathology statuses of immune system. Special attention is paid to processes involved in mechanisms of initiation of the pathology, diagnostics, symptoms and therapeutic opportunities. Main aim: comprehensive explanation of the mechanisms involved in etiology of selected immunopathological diseases.
- Syllabus
- 1. Structure and physiological mechanism involved in immune system: an overview. 2. Immunity impairments: medicinal aspects, ethical and social issues. Types of diagnostics/therapeutic approaches. 3. Primary immunodeficiency: role of mutations, typology of primary deficits, incidence, pathophysiology, symptoms, diagnostics and therapy 4. Secondary immunodeficiency: causal association, mechanisms of initiation, symptoms, therapeutic opportunities. 5. Interactions of selected infection factors with immune system: (TBC, Borrelia) 6. Immunological mechanisms of selected tissues and organ systems 7. Hypersensitivity 8. Transplantation immunology 9. Reproductive immunology 10. Autoimmune diseases
