- Course objectives
- The course is devoted for students of Bachelors program. The main objectives are the following:
introducing to hydrogeology as a science;
understanding of permeability of rocks and its origin;
learning the basic principles of groundwater flow;
using of hydrological equation;
introducing to methods of groundwater measurement and sampling;
learning basics of contaminant hydrogeology. - Syllabus
- History of hydrogeology
- terminology
- physicochemical properties of water; water phases on Earth; classification of ground water
- hydrologic cycle; origin of ground water; hydrologic equation
- ground water movement in geological materials; porosity and permeability of rocks; Darcy's Law; ground water flow
- ground water flow in porous, fracturated and carstic rocks
- basic methods og ground water survey
- basic principles and introduce to contaminant hydrogeology
