- Course objectives
- The course demonstrates a number of physiological principles mentioned in paralell lecture. Students do some basic experiments on themselves or animal material, some experiments are demonstrational. The main objective of the course is to obtain fundamental physiology laboratory skills.
- Syllabus
- 1. Proteins. Determination of total proteins content in mammal serum and insect haemolymph. 2. Physiology of muscle contraction I. - skeletal muscle. 3. Physiology of muscle contraction II. - cardiac muscle. 4. Electrokardiography - electric activity of human heart. 5. Metabolism. Determination of oxygen consumption on human and insect. 6. Ventilation. Determination of physiological parameters and volumes of human ventilation. 7. Blood glucose. Regulation and glucose curve in mammals. 8. Vasomotor responses and blood pressure. Plethysmography. 9. Blood elements. Determination of blood human picture. 10. Blood groups. Determination of human blood groups. 11. Cholesterol. Determination of human blood cholesterol content. 12. Reflexes. Determination of reaction time by electromyogram. Lia detector. 13. Senses. Human visual field. Spectral sensitivity of human hearing.
