Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to understant to basic geological principles and laws, stratigraphic units, main types of sedimentary environments. Main evolutionary moments in Precambrain, Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic.
Syllabus
  • Basic geological principles and laws, stratigraphic uinits, main types of sedimentary environments. Praecambrian - division, evolution of earth crust, origin and evolution of life, regional distribution of Praecamrian rocks, orogenies. Lower Paleozoic - division, paleogeographic development, evolution of life, regional distribution of Lower Paleozoic rocks, orogenies. Upper Paleozoic - division, paleogeographic development, evolution of life, regional distribution of Lower Paleozoic rocks, orogenies. Mesozoic - division and characterization, paleogeographic and paleobiogeographic development, orogenies, evolution of life, regional occurrences. Cenozoic - division and characterization, paleogeographic and paleobiogeographic development, orogenies, evolution of life, regional occurrences.
