Biostatistics, knowledge on using R (basic mathematic operations and production of graphs) - Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is also offered to the students of the fields other than those the course is directly associated with.
The capacity limit for the course is 30 student(s).
Current registration and enrolment status: enrolled: 0/30, only registered: 0/30, only registered with preference (fields directly associated with the programme): 0/30 - fields of study / plans the course is directly associated with
- there are 14 fields of study the course is directly associated with, display
- Course objectives
- This lecture aims to show analyses of biological data using modern linear methods, mainly General Linear Models and Generalised Linear Models within R. At the end of this course the student should be able to apply appropriate model of univariate statistics to the data.
- Syllabus
- 1) Introduction: Why we use software R? 2) Exploratory data analysis: Data frames. Tables and graphs. Moments. 3) Experimental design: full random, latin squares, replications, control. 4) Statistical modeling. Distributions. 5) Analysis of data from normal distribution. 6) Analysis of data from lognormal and gamma distribution. 7) Analysis of data from Poisson distribution. 8) Analysis of data from negative-binomial distribution. 9) Analysis of data from binomial and binary distribution.
