- Course objectives
- At the end of this course the student will be able to: understand and explain the causes of possible geological hazards, their risks in the world generally and in the Central Europe definitely.
- Learning outcomes
- Student, after finishing of the course, will be able to identify the geological hazards.
- Syllabus
- a) Volcanism and its risks, possibilities if its forecasting
- b) Earthquake activity, its measurement and forecasting. Neotectonics. Underground nuclear explosions.
- c) Landslides, rocky destruction.
- d) Floods, influence of the climate and human activities on floods.
- e) Dust devil.
- f) Old minig activities, underground hazard, methane hazard.
- g) Radon hazard, natural radioactivity of rocks.
- h) Impacts of extraterrestrial bodies.

- Lectures and inspection of measurement equipment situated at the Institute of Physics of the Earth

- written test. The number of students at individual exam terms will be regulated according to current crisis measures in spring semester 2021. In case of completely critical situation, the completion of the course will be in a distance form in spring semester 2021.
