- Course objectives
- The main objective of the course is to present a basic socio-cultural characteristic of important ancient areas of the world.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course the student should be able to: describe the ethnical composition, explain the life-philosophy, describe the organization of relationships between the individual and the social organisation, define ethical and statesman doctrines and list the main cultural and technological discoveries of the important ancient cultural-historical areas of the world; characterize specifics and emphasize the contributions of individual areas to the world culture.

- Theoretical training in form of presentations.
- Assessment methods
- The course is concluded with an oral exam. In the discussion the lector evaluates the level of obtained knowledge and the capability of the student to associate information from various areas. To pass the exam successfully the student must prove good knowledge of the issues discussed during lectures and in the required reading.
