- Course objectives
- Economic History for students of National Economy (PEHDPN) The objective of the course, which continues World Economy from the 5th semester, is to analyse the world economy from the point of view of economic growth. In certain periods of the last two centuries, some countries reached a very high rate of growth and that often happened thanks to economic reforms. The course tries to answer the question: "Which economic factors are the most relevant to the economic growth?" Among the analysed countries is Great Britain in the 19th century, Germany after the World War II, Chile from 1970 to 1990, South Korea after the World War II, China and New Zealand since the 80s. The course consists of lectures and exercises. The exercises are obligatory and for obtaining the credit it is necessary to become actively involved in their activities, which will consist in analysing various economic magazine articles related to the given topic. Students are asked to read them beforehand to be acquainted with the topic before the discussion starts. Credit requirements: active participation in seminars, reading recommended literature. Examination: written, oral.
