Course objectives
The aim is to understand the nature of physiotherapy as a specific preventive and therapeutic methods, to understand differentiation of movements, the ability to apply physiotherapy procedures of selected diagnoses. Students will acquire medical information about physical education in surgery, ICU, ARO and burns, as well as obtain information on physiotherapy practice after abdominal and thoracic operations and amputations of the upper and lower limbs, also become familiar with the procedures of the breast after ablation.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to:
- explain a comprehensive overview of special physiotherapeutic concepts and methods;
- describe basic information on their origin, nature, main principles, indications and contraindications;
- practical application of elementary elements of concepts and methods.

  • 01. Introduction to neurorehabilitation incl. Ontogenetic aspects of motor learning.
  • 02. Introduction to respiratory physiotherapy.
  • 03. Introduction to sensomotor exercises (Freeman, Janda, Vávrová; Propriofoot, Bosu, Overball, Powerball, Posturomed…).
  • 04. Introduction to dermatoneuromuscular therapy according to Kenna, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF).
  • 05. Introduction to Vojta's Method.
  • 06. Introduction K ~ Method Brügger, Brunkow, Brunnström, Klapp.
  • 07. Introduction to dynamic neuromuscular stabilization (DNS according to Kolář).
  • 08. Introduction to Bobath concept (NDT).
  • 09. Introduction to Feldenkreis method, biofeedback.

Teaching methods
Lecture: frontal type of education with discussion.
Seminars: practical exercises in a small group of students.
Assessment methods
Lectures: Regular participation in teaching (maximum 2 absence).
Exercise: Proof of practical skills and successful elaboration of written tests (fulfillment at 80 %) in the course and at the end of the semester is a condition for admission to the oral test.
