Course objectives
The course focuses on theoretical background and practical experiences connected with different forms of scientific communication. In the lectures, the basic structure of scientific communication will be presented; attention will be paid to its basic forms and components. The basic s of effective presentation of one´s research to several types of audience will be presented. Main characteristics of „good-written” materials and their presentation in different environment will be described. The seminars will be crucial part of the course. During them, students will gain practical experience in some of the basic forms of scientific communication. Among them will be writing of abstract, empirical article, poster/presentation, grant proposal, article review. In the course, large portion of individual activity of students is required. Besides one’s own writing/presentation, students will be also giving feedback to other course participants; active participation during seminars is also required. The course is suitable for students who are intending doctoral studies and for those who are currently working on their diploma thesis. The course may serve as a help with diploma writing and preparing for its defense. The knowledge and practical experiences gained during the course can also be employed in many other areas where formal communication is used.

Assessment methods
Students should attend 80% of sessions (it is possible to miss one lecture and one seminar), complete all assignments (empirical article, presentation, reviews, abstract), give feedback and join discussion during seminars.
