- Course objectives
- The course aims to introduce the phenomenon of ethnic conflicts. The participants will get a basic knowledge about theoretical concepts, terms and categories which are connected to the research of ethnic conflicts. The main focus of the course lies in the particular case studies.

- 1. Theory and methods of concepts ethnicity a nationalism (S. Prtina) 2. Conflict reserach: Theory and typology of intra-state conflicts 3. Development and dynamics of inter-ethnic realtions in post-communist area 4. Development and dynamics of inter-ethnic realtions in post-communist area 5. Causes of inter-ethnic conflict – case study Naghorno Karabach 6. Dynamics of inter-ethnic armed conflict – Georgia - Abkhazia 7. Reading week 8. Intra-state and economic dimension of the conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina 9. Asymetric conflic - case study Chechenya 10. Conflict in Kosovo - etnocultural dichotomy ( 11. „Weak state" ethnic conflict - a case of Macedonia 12. Comparative conclusion
