Course objectives
At the end of this course, students should be well informed in the basic problems and themes of patho-psychology and psychopathology.
Patho-psychology as a psychology of ill people. Ill person personality. Ill child. Socially-psychological problems of a disabled. Deprivation problem. Patho-psychology in relation to educational psychology.
Having completed successfully from the course a student
- achieves clarity in response to ethical questions
- has knowledge of important the contributions of Moravian and Czech psychologists and psychiatrists to the development of these scientific disciplines
- will be open to new thoughts in these disciplines and be instilled with a desire for life long education
- will remember the study of the subject with love and be likely to recommend it to her/his acquaintances .
A student who fails the course
- will be able to be more realistic about his/her predisposition to study
- will be able decide whether it makes sense to repeat the course
- will be able to quit studying without losing her/his self confidence.

  • 1. The subject and importance of patho-psychology. Relation between patho-psychology and psycho-pathology; patho-psychology in psychology.
  • 2. Reasons of mental disorders. Heredity of psychic properties and environmental influences. The issue of normality. Psychology of a handicap. Handicap and personality. Specific personality features of a disabled person.
  • 3. Psychic function disorders. Cognitive function disorders. Perception disorders. Memory disorders. Cogitation disorders. Speech disorders.
  • 4. Emotional disorders and motivation. Emotional disorders. Instinct disorders. Volition disorders. 5. Disorders of consciousness and attention. Quantitative disorders of consciousness. Disorders of attention.
  • 6. Psychological check-up.
  • 7. Psychological issues of neurological illnesses.
  • 7.1. Poliomyelitis.
  • 7.2. Hyperactivity syndrome.
