- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students will have basic knowledge of chemistry and biochemistry including clinical biochemistry.
- Syllabus
- Basic chemical terms, concentration, electrolytes. Test 1 (calculations). pH, acids, bases, buffers, osmotic pressure. Test 2 (pH calculations). Redox reactions. Test 3 (redox reactions). Biochemical analyzators, biological material, blood collection. Test 4 (methods). The overview of metabolism, digestion of nutrients, main metabolic pathways in sugars, lipids, and proteins.

- First condition is full attendance in all lessons. The next condition is to achieve at least 50 % of points from tests 1-4. If not, students write the credit test with the 30 questions in the last week of the semester. The limit for passing the credit test is 14 points.
