- Course objectives
- The main objectives of the course are:
- acquiring theoretical knowledge about the importance of psychiatry in other medical and paramedical fields
- acquiring theoretical knowledge about major psychiatric disorders and psychoses
- acquiring theoretical knowledge about possible pharmacological and non-pharmacological procedures for the treatment of psychiatric disorders - Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of the course the student will be able to:
- understand the importance of psychiatry for other medical and non-medical fields
- describe and recognize symptoms of the most common psychiatric disorders and psychotic illnesses. - propose appropriate acute treatment to calm a restless patient
- propose appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment for the treatment of psychiatric disorders - Syllabus

Casuistry Seminars - Assessment methods
- Attendance at classes
One absence is allowed
In case of 2 and 3 absences, including excused absences due to health reasons, the student will be required to prepare a seminar paper in the range of 1000 - 1500 words on the topic of the seminar the student was absent from
The student will have to prepare a seminar paper for each such absence
In case of 4 or more absences, the student has not met the requirements for completing the course
After the seminars, the student will have to complete an exam
The exam takes the form of a written test
It is test with the choice of one correct answer
The test has 10 questions, to successfully pass the test, the student must answer at least 6 questions correctly
If the above requirements for completing the course are not met, the student will have to repeat the course in the following school year. - Language of instruction

Classes in the fall semester of 2022 take place together with classes for the Bachelor of Science in Science in the large (newly reconstructed) auditorium of the Psychiatric Clinic of the FN Brno - Bohunice, building G, 2nd floor, no. 202.
