Course objectives
The course aims at supporting and further developing the students’ practical language competence (language skills in reading, speaking and writing).
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the students should be able to:
- express themselves freely on the topics which were the subject of discussion in the seminar (see “osnova”),
- use the most common vocabulary in connection with the discussed topics,
- understand texts in the discussed areas and to restate the main points in their own words.
- formulate their own point of view in regard of the discussed topics.

  • The course covers four units of the textbook Kursbuch Sicher B1+, Units 5-8 and of the textbook Arbeitsbuch Sicher B1+, Units 5-8

Teaching methods

Assessment methods
written test at the end of the term (at least 60 %);
oral exam during the examination period;
attending classes is compulsory (no more than two absences are tolerated);
during the semester, homework may be required.
Náhradní absolvování
Students on a study abroad program will have their ISP (Individual Study Plan) recognized, and they will be allowed to fulfill the requirements (after agreement with the instructors at the beginning of each semester) through distance learning. Possible recognition of the course (for a course at the host university) should be discussed with the lecturer before the start of the semester.
