Course objectives
The last of the three freely related seminars tempts sentiment as an important dimension of a harmonious personality. Sometimes art is referred to as the communication of emotions, as a tool for the cultivation of emotion. It is not only about the development of receptive sensitivity and reflexivity, but also about the management of emotions and the expansion of empathy, the perception of belonging. Aesthetics of the 20th century. adds concepts of otherness, uncertainty and ugliness. Deepening the knowledge of a number of contexts opens students with a broad sense of feeling including marginal and ambivalent experiences. It leads to a deeper understanding of the potential of art education. The seminar is focused on students' active work with selected texts and their discussion. The papers and subsequent discussion of their topics aim to clarify the forms of art education that develop pupils' sensitivity. The aim is to clarify the forms of didactically anchored effects on emotional development. Initial attention is focused on three areas - a) body sensitivity - motorism and sensuality, b) introspective focus and reflexivity, c) social sensitivity and belief in the situation of the other.
Learning outcomes
1) The student knows basic concepts and concepts dealing with issues of feeling and perception (related to art and everyday life), theory of emotions and experiences, concepts of aesthetics and expressivism, catharsis. 2) An art student applying this knowledge to specific artistic expressions as well as pedagogical material. 3) The student is able to take his own, experienced and thoughtful opinion on the issue.
Syllabus
  • 1) Aesthetic concepts concerning perception and feeling: catharsis, aesthetics and expressionism, anesthetics,      2) perception of the body, temporal and motor perception, senses, temporal-space extraction (Giddens); 3) conditions and course of reception, responzion art theory (shifts to participation) Kostnická škola; 4) main psychological (Izard, Plutchik), and sociological concepts of emotions (Kemper, Hochschild, Collins) 4) hedonism versus nirvana - orientation towards experience (G. Schulze, Lipovetsky, Petrusek); 5) the concept of harmony, taste and taste cultures (high and low, omnivority etc.), H. Gans. Bourdieu, Peterson; 6) Radical otherness (Blanchot, Bataille, Klossowski) Feeling marginal situations; 7) suffering, sickness, and pain, and others (Blažek, Olmer); 8) laughter, grotesqueness and ambivalence of ironic expression (comic theory).

Teaching methods

Assessment methods
A 5,000-character essay on a chosen topic, leaning against texts / literature to the seminar. Score of 0 - 30 points (at least 10 points must be awarded for the credit). Criteria for assessment: a) Proven knowledge of lecturing and reading (0 - 8 points); 2) originality and language level (0-15 points); c) work with resources and formal level of text (0 - 7 points).
