- Course objectives
- The subject is a loose follow-up to the contents of Didactics of Literary Education 1. Having met the course requirements, students are able to understand and explain the process of literary education. They are able to evaluate the conception of literary education generally and against the national curriculum, to explain and compare basic problems of using traditional and modern teaching methods and forms in literary education, to contrast the role of creativity and critical thinking, and will be able to use different methods of evaluation and classification.
- Syllabus
- 1. History of literary education, changes of teaching materials. 2. The conception of literary education in the present curriculum. Literary education in the Framework of education in primary teaching: terminology of the Framework (RVP ZV)related to the terminology of students´field of study; structure of teaching aims in compliance with RVP ZV - aims of literary education related to the field of study and key competences; literary education in RVP ZV and ŠVP ZV (expected output, learning materials and their presence in the curriculum); literary education in the contex of cross-sectional topics and a possible integration of subjects. 3. Models and methodical systems of literary education from the point of view of the current theory of literary education. 4. Methods of teaching and its classification. Methodology of literary education at primary schools. 5. Using word, situational, dramatic, brainstorming and other methods and didactic games in literary education. 6. Motivation - functions, methods. Specificity of interpretation in higher classes of primary schools. 7. Evaluation, testing and marking in literary education. Tests and their use in literary education. 8. Teacher´s personality, communication between the teacher and the pupils in literary education. 9. Problematic situations and tasks in literary education, creativity. Intepretation and critical thinking. 10. Selected topics from literary science as a possible inspiration for intepretation of literary texts. (The topics of the lectures draw upon the topics dealt with in the seminars in the previous term.)

- Type of course: lecture Type of completion: credit Credit requirements: written assignment - students write a critical essay on a given topic (topics assigned at the beginning of the term)in which students make practical use of theoretical knowledge of didactics of literary education gained in lectures, combined with their own experience from the teaching practice.
