Course objectives
By the end of the course students are familiar with the periodization of Russian literary development in the 20th century, they understand the specifics of various literary movements, they are able to relate particular writers and poets to 20th century literary movements, they are able to briefly characterize the specifics of the certain works of the selected authors, to utilize theoretical knowledge in interpretation of literary texts, to link knowledge of Russian history and realia with the development of Russian literature and its most prominent writers.

Students: - understand the periodization of Russian literary development in the 20th century - understand the specifics - briefly characterize the specifics of the work of selected Russian writers - use theoretical knowledge in interpretive work with texts - Linking knowledge of history and realities with the development of Russian literature and its leading figures

  • 1 – 6. Practical examples and analyzes of Russian modernist texts, the works of the Silver Age poets and the works of authors who did not belong to any literary movement. Continuation of realism.
