Course objectives
The aim is to extend the competences of students for informed approaches to the education of children and pupils at risk/behavour difficulties/disorders at the school environment. Students will be guided to the application procedures for the promotion, strengthening and guiding of the target group of children in the educational process at the system level, at school and in the class. Students will learn how to assess the specific educational needs of the target groups of pupils, set the objectives of the intervention, apply the intervention agreement. The aim is to broaden students' competence to make an informed approaches to education of pupils at risk of failure     s behavior and mental disabilities, focusing on the school environment. Students will be encouraged to   application procedures supporting, strengthening and guiding the target group of children   educational processes at the system level and school classes.
Syllabus
  • 1. Inclusion as the concept for education of children with Emotional and Behaviour disorders 2. The specific educational needs of the children with the PCH/personality/Developmental specifics as the basis of diagnosis 3. The educational needs of the target group as the source of the intervention work special educator. 4. Behaviour disorder as a dynamic phenomenon – vertical, horizontal level 5. Social exclusion and the risk for the development of the behavior. 6. The intervention in the classroom environment 7. System elements and processes for support of inclusive school within the target group; risk of exclusion from education. 8. Resilience - process and environment, coping strategies. 9. Legislation on the education issues of the target groups of pupils. 10. Project work 11. Residential care 12. The educational needs of the target groups as a source of labor intervention special educator. 13. Legislation on the issue of education of pupils with mild mental disabilities 14. Range of pupils with mild mental disabilities (specifics of personality, cognitive processes, variability developmental traits) 15. Education of persons with mild mental disabilities, terminology bases 16. Counseling services for students with mild mental disabilities (school counseling office, school counseling services).

Teaching methods
Lecturers, class discussion, projects, study visit, homework, reading. lectures, practical teaching, discussion, participation required. All the requirements for completing the course , including headings and literature will be completed by the teacher at the beginning of the course .
Assessment methods
Seminar work, project and presentaion, final work. Final score: 40:20:40 Education of individuals with mild intellectual disability final written test (it is necessary to successfully cope with 75% of correct answers)
