- Course objectives
- The content of the subject is closely related and is connected with the teaching discussed in Didactic practice of Music Education 1. Students will be acquainted with the appropriate methods and steps for the development of tonal feeling and practice of polyphonic song. Attention is paid to the application of the tonal song method in practice. The aim of the subject is to teach students to apply the tonal song´s method and intonation techniques in practice, in connection with other musical activities (melodization, rhythm of opening and closure of melody, finished and unfinished melody, etc).
- Learning outcomes
- Student:
- is able to create thematic units and knows how to apply them in practice (such as arrangement of Music lessons);
- is able to implement aural exercises in practice;
- is able to apply the tonal song´s method and intonation techniques in practice, in connection with other musical activities (melodization, rhythm of opening and closure of melody, finished and unfinished melody, etc.);
- acquires Methodological training of homophonic song - practice by using intonation approach and combination of imitation and intonation approach; methodological training of polyphonic songs;
- acquires basic timing skills (e.g. conducting) and apply them when working with children;
- demonstrates her/his skills playing the soprano recorder - Syllabus

- Perceptive Activities: Intonation and Aural Training. Methods of Intonation: Solmization; Čestmír Staněk: The Number method; The Ku-ku method; Fr. Lýsek; L. Daniel: Tonal song method - tone height, melody movement and diatonic procedures; starts without tonal support; supporting songs. Developing a tonal feeling.
- Methodological training of homophonic song - practice by using intonation approach and combination of imitation and intonation approach; methodological training of polyphonic songs.
- Implement aural exercises in practice.
- Master the basics of playing the soprano recorder.
- Conducting in 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4 time (upbeat, canon).č

- Teaching methods
- Practical preparation: singing – breathing, vocal and aural exercises, supporting songs – accompanied on elementary musical instruments and conducting. Playing the piano/violin and soprano recorder; Body sounds. Creating of a list of supporting songs from well-known popular and artificial songs.

Completion: examination
a) For the final examination, students will show their theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired in the subjects of Didactic practice of Music Education 1 to 2. The final examination will be Oral for the theoretical part and there will also be a practical part (such as singing, conducting, playing piano/violin and/or recorder, etc).
b) A minimum of 80% active participation in seminars.
c) Writing a syllabus for a particular year of upper Years in Primary School.
d) Mastering the basics of playing the soprano recorder (C Major, D Major, G Major, F Major); 5 folk songs.
e) 20 folk songs (8 of them polyphonic songs) , 4 artifical and 4 popular: singing, playing the piano/ violin – transposition to major 2nd (up and down), conducting.
f) Creating a list of supporting songs from well-known popular and artificial songs. - Language of instruction
