- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to: master other critical thinking methods practically that develop reading literacy in the Czech language on the secondary school; to comprehend conditions for a development of reading literacy at school.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course the student will be able:
1. to use the alternative methods;
2. to use the methods of the critical thinking in teaching Czech, especially in grammar and stylistic lessons at the secondary school;
3. to use critical thinking methods for a development of reading literacy;
4. argue their and their colleagues’ didactic performances when presenting a lesson plan. - Syllabus
- 1. Development of methods used within an evocation stage of a lesson.
- 2. Development of methods used within a stage of realization of meaning.
- 3. Development of methods used within a reflection stage.
- 4. Conditions for developing reading literacy at school.
- 5. Methods of developing reading skills.
- 6. Reading workshop techniques.

- The subject is ended by a credit test. Credit requirements: a student is supposed to present a lesson plan that contains application of the methods on particular topics of the Czech language curriculum.
