- Course objectives
- The course focuses on social and cultural aspects of the target language and ways of developing intercultural competence. Attention is also focused on different types of assessment in the language class and development of the ability to assess pupils' communication competence.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student should be able to: distinguish between the concepts of culture, civilization, cultural stereotypes and intercultural approach in language teaching. They should also be able to distinguish different types of assessment and apply them in teaching.

- Teaching methods
- Seminar, discussion, presentation, homework. Connecting theoretical knowledge with practice, using the activation method, gaining experience with specific teaching situations. Students of combined study are required to attend at least half of the consultations.
- Assessment methods
- The output of the course is the preparation of a professional portfolio. Students hand in the project at the end of the semester in printed or electronic form. Feedback is provided orally during the final expert discussion of the project.
