- Course objectives
- The aim of the subject is to give an idea of America, Australia and polar areas and Oceania as a functioning system of regional units and different dimensions of a hierarchical classification based on natural and corresponding economic and social parameters. At the end of this course students will be able understand regional specifics of these regions, to compose information, factual and localized information into their context.

- 1. Identifying and defining of the region
- 2. Physical-geographical characteristics (geology, climate, hydrology, biogegraphy)
- 3. Social-geogrphical characteristics (demography, economy, intergation)
- 4. Regionalisation of the areas and complex characteristics of subregions and countries (Canada; USA; Mexico; Carribean area; Brasilia; Venezuela; Columbia; Argentina, etc).

- Elaboration and presentation of requested work (presentations, lesson prepartion, evaluation of textbooks, etc.). Written / oral examination. The written exam consists of 12 open-ended questions rated 12 by points. It is necessary to obtain min. 7 points for successful completion. Written test may be replaced by an oral examination.
