- Course objectives
- Seminar theme complements and extends the course Introduction to the study I and emphasizes the acquisition of theoretical knowledge of the general linguistics and the subsequent verification of practical examples. The aim of this course is to acquaint students with terminology and terms with the essential requirements imposed on scientific work, the way of treatment, with norms and formal rules for editing text. Students will learn basic technical terminology Czech-Russian plan. Mastering the various topics are examined in the examination of Course Introduction to the study I.
- Syllabus
- 1st Basic methodological approaches to language . Diachrony and synchrony. Diachronic and synchronic description of language. Russia-Czech terminology continuously in the semester given thematic whole. 2nd Origin and historical development of script. Cuneiform. Hieroglyphic writing. Phoenician script. 3rd Origin and historical development of script. Greek. Roman font. Roman fonts. 4th Origin and historical development of script. Slavic script. The invention of the printing press. Other species and types of fonts. 5th Languages in contact. Idiolect and dialect. 6th Manifestations of language contact, types of language situations. 7th Slavic and the object of research, prominent industry leaders. Indo-European languages and Slavic languages. 8th Typology: characterization and method of dividing the Slavic languages. Clarification of the current situation in the Slavic languages (location, number of speakers, etc.). 9th Eastern slav and Russian languages. Eastern slav community. Characteristic features in the Eastern slav languages. 10th Russian-Czech confrontation (phonetic and phonological aspects). 11th Russian-Czech confrontation (morphological and syntactical aspects). 12th Outside of language communication. Body language. 13th Summary.

- Students present projects on chosen topics they worked out. They learn professional terminology.
- Assessment methods
- The requirements: 1. Regular doing the required home assignments based on the studied theory and terminology. 2. Semester paper – every student must hand in a project during his study. The topic can be chosen by the student according to his interests, but must be consulted beforehand.
