- Cíle předmětu
- The aim of the course is to develop participants´ discussion skills, speaking fluency and ability to negotiate through immersive and intensive speaking sessions (simulation games and complex role-playing scenarios). The course is hands-on, you need to prepare (get in a mood) for every session (watch videos, read an article, get basic information about the scenario for the particular session), then try to solve the issue/game/scenario during the face-to-face session in cooperation with other classmates. The end of the session is dedicated to feedback and reflection with the tutor (a very similar routine is applied for most of the sessions). The course is taught in English and focuses on developing English as a foreign language. The suggested level for participants to enroll is B1 and above. --- There is a possibility to pass this course by participating in an intensive 4-day course that takes place from 28th to 31st October 2021 at the Faculty of Education - the venue will be sent to you via e-mail a week prior to the course). The course starts at 8:00 and finishes at around 16:00 or sooner every day (the exact time frame is based on the number of participants). There is research conducted during the intensive course - you will be asked to answer surveys, participate in interviews and focus groups. In return, advanced individual feedback is given to the participants. Participants will be recorded during the course (both video and audio recordings). If you are interested in taking the intensive version of the course instead of the regular version (as scheduled in IS - 100 min every two weeks) - let me know via e-mail: 435189@mail.muni.cz The intensive course is intended for students whose mother tongue is Czech or Slovak and their level of English is approximately B1/B1+ (proficient or nearly proficient speakers are not that welcome - please attend the regular course if your English is excellent). The intensive version of the course will be held if there are at least 4 students willing to participate in the course.
