- Course objectives
- Main objective can be summarized as follows:
to learn basic knowledge of General Methodology of Chemistry;
to understand basic principles of teaching chemistry at Primary School;
understand recognize, understand and analyse general regularities of Methodology of Chemistry;
to deduce possibilities of application didactic theories of chemistry into the practical teaching chemistry at the primary school; - Learning outcomes

- acquire basic knowledge of general methodology of chemistry;
- Understand the basic didactic principles of teaching chemistry at elementary school;
- Understand and analyze general patterns of chemistry methodology;
- deduce possibilities of application of didactic theory of chemistry to the practical teaching of chemical topics at elementary school - Syllabus
- 1. Didactics of chemistry as a science, its comparison with science and other fields.
- 2. Information - communication - humanization in teaching subject chemistry. Teacher - pedagogue - chemistry.
- 3. Didactic principles and subject matter of chemistry at primary school.
- 4. a) Chemistry teaching at primary schools, selection criteria. b) Basic didactic functions - planning and motivation.
- 5. Basic didactic functions - communication, management and control.
- 6. Control and observation system in teaching at primary school.
- 7. Phases of chemistry lessons and their fulfillment.
- 8. a) Preparation for lesson - introduction. b) Preparation for lesson - completion of the topic.
- 9. a) Chemistry teacher's professionalism, role of chemistry teacher, basic pedagogical skills. b) Management and decision making system in chemistry teaching, systemic and situational approach. c) Educational system of the Czech Republic, its morphology, function and its universal application in the subject of chemistry. d) School legislation - School Act and Act on Educational Staff.
