- Course objectives
- The subject of ceramic creation exercises surface and spatial vision and feeling. He works with ceramic material both classically and experimentally. The aim of the course is to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of ceramics from the field of free art and design, which can be used for later application in art teaching practice and for further art education.
- Learning outcomes
- Based on semester assignments, the student gets to know the theoretical and practical part of the task in the form of consultations and workshops by the teacher. The assignment is discussed in the smallest details in the introductory lessons, followed by research on the topic from the field of contemporary visual art; joint consultation on sketches, further individual consultation.
The student will be able to:
– transform your end, sketch into real form;
– based on one's own experience with the material, continuously respond in the creation process;
– master basic modeling and decorating techniques;
– acquire knowledge and skills in working with a firing furnace.
The teacher's goal is to achieve a shift from a mastered craft to personal expression in each student. - Syllabus
- – assignment of a topic in a group – group consultation on sketches and proposals, discussion of proposals and evaluation of research (according to the assignment in the field of liberal and applied arts) – own realization, ongoing individual consultation with a teacher – a teacher’s workshop – a practical demonstration of techniques associated with ceramic material (free modelling, gluing plates, repairs, retouching, decorating - basic techniques of applying engobs and glazes (etching, applying with a brush, sponge, spraying, sprinkling, painting, drawing); concurrent photo or video documentation (photo of the process ) – presentation and defense of the concept – output – material realization, photo documentation
