- Course objectives
- The course is intended for students with basic knowledge of the rudiments of English linguistics. The first part of the term is devoted to the basic issues of the morphology and lexicology of the English language. More specifically, attention is paid to the different lexical and functional categories, the morphological structure of words and to the formation of new naming units. Naturally, attention is also paid to the semantic representations which appear in lexical entries. The second part of the term is devoted to the analysis of individual word classes, with special regard to verbs, nouns, pronouns, adjectives and adverbs.
