Course objectives
Main objectives can be summarized as follows: to elaborate the basic knowledge of the Italian grammar with the emphasis on present, future simple and past tense (passato prossimo);
The student should be able to write a short letter, to perform a conversation on basic issues and to describe a picture.
At the end of the course, students should reach the following level of European reference frame: A1.

  • Prepositions and numerals.
  • Writing a letter.
  • Past tense „Passato prossimo“: formation.
  • Past tense „Passato prossimo“: use.
  • Adverbs and modal verbs in the past tense.
  • Telling a story in the past tense.
  • The Italians end bars. Coffee.
  • Future simple tense: use.
  • Future composite tense: use.
  • Projects, plans, forecast and hypothesis.
  • Italian feast days.

Teaching methods
Seminar and additional excercises.
Attendance and participation in the course (min. 75%) is required.
Assessment methods
Written and oral examination aimed at testing the essential language skills according to the A1 level of European reference frame. Student has to consign 3 short essays and 3 traductions during the semester: https://is.muni.cz/auth/el/1421/jaro2014/MED30/index.qwarp
