Course objectives
The course pretends to acquaint the students with an overview of the main issues concerning the practical aspects of the whole translation/interpreting process that every translator and interpreter have to face in their work. Both traditional methods and the latest techniques will be introduced.Internal teachers will teach in tandem with external experts.

Students are acquainted with the main issues concerning practical problems that every translator and interpretor have to face in their work.
Syllabus
  • The course is divided into two independent blocks. 1. Practical aspects of the translation process. 2. Practical aspects of interpretation. Students will be acquinted with the main principles of the interpretation process.

Teaching methods
Practical course.Intensive classes. In seminars students will be familiarized with the main principles of translation and interpreting praxis (translator and interpreter code). Students will be confronted with model situations in simultaneous and consecutive interpreting.
Assessment methods
Attendance is compulsory. Regular homework and preparation are required. Active approach in class and indiscussions are expected.
