Course objectives (in Czech)

Rozdíly mezi rodovou společností a státem. Základní typy států starověkého období (Egypt, Mezopotámie, mínojská, mykénská civilizace, řecké městské státy, Peršané, helénistické monarchie).

Syllabus (in Czech)

• 1. Rozdíly mezi rodovou společností a státem; základní typy států starověkého období.
• 2. Stát a společnost ve staré Mezopotámii a Egyptě (shody, rozdíly, přežívání některých prvků do antického období); náboženství a právo v životě starého Orientu; mezilidské vztahy.
• 3. Nejstarší státní útvary Evropy v rámci Mínojské a mykénské civilizace.
• 4. Řecké městské státy a občanské spol. antického typu; první demokracie světa a hranice jejich možností; řecké politické myšlení.
• 5. Staroperská veleříše; absolutní monarchie hellénistického období - první pokus o globalizaci starověkého světa.

Assessment methods (in Czech)

Kolokvium bude uděleno za odevzdání eseje (ca. 5 stran) o polit., sociálním nebo náboženském vývoji ve vybraném období starověku.
