Course objectives
Course description. mgr.Balaštík: The seminar will focus especially on the reading of important studies in literary theory (R. Jakobson, J. Mukařovský, R. Welek, Terence Hawkes, Milan Jankovič, Northrop Frye, Paul Ricoeur, Fr. Miko) and the interpretation of key terminology of the field. The aim is to make the student acquainted with basic ways of theoretical thinking about literature and art generally. The second part of the seminar will focus on the interpretation of concrete poetic texts.

doc. Trávníček: The seminar will focus on main concepts in literary theory. These concepts will be shown both in working with theoretical texts (analysis, critical reading) and artistic texts (model interpretation).

mgr. Urválková: The seminar will focus on the work with literary texts (poetic, prosaic and dramatic), which will be analysed and interpreted with the use of the student's knowledge of basic terminology of poetics. The seminar will partly consist of reading chosen articles and papers in literary theory, with the help of which an attempt will be made to explain various methods of approaching a literary text.
