This course is intended for students who have an intermediate/upper-intermediate knowledge of English. This is a compulsory foundation course with various language options for students of Bachelor's studies. - Course Enrolment Limitations

- Course objectives
- The Online Course of Academic English for the Humanities I is aimed at developing academic/professional linguistic skills. The content of the course corresponds to a B2 (Common European Framework of Reference) level of English language competence. Students can understand the main ideas of relatively complex text on both concrete and academic/professional topics, including discussions in their field of specialisation; can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party; can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of academic/professional subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

- Assessment methods
- The course is organized in an e-learning form, students work with study materials individually. At the end of the course, students must prepare a presentation (5 - 7 minutes long) given on an interesting topic relating to their field of study. This should be done using the relevant language and presentation tools provided in this course.
