Course objectives
The aim of the course is the identification of basic theories of relation comprehension and connection between mental and physical manifestations of man, philosophical and methodology issues of the relation between bodies and psyche, physiological components in psychological investigation of basic psychic states and processes (consciousness, teaching, emotion, attention, memory, etc.), methods of physiological investigation of psychic phenomena (e.g. electrophysiology), psycho-physiological aspects of psychopathology , principles of psychosomatics. Successful passing the course of physiological psychology will bring the student knowledge how to comprehend neuropsychology and all psychological disciplines that have a biological component.

  • Philosophical and methodology questions of physiological psychology. Physiological psychology, psychophysiology, biological psychology, ethology.
  • Development of physiological psychology.
  • Brain and behaviour.
  • Genetics and behaviour. Development of behaviour. Neuro-embryology. Behaviour evolutionary beginnings. Sociobiology.
  • Consciousness and its psychophysiological correlates. Principle asymmetry. Attention. Sleep.
  • Electrophysiology processes in psychological research. Sensorial systems. Pain. Cardiovascular system and gastro-intestinal system and physiological psychology.
  • Psychophysiology of motorics.
  • Physiological psychology of motivation. Thirst, hunger, sexual behaviour.
  • Physiological psychology of emotions. Stress.
  • Teaching and memory. Cognitive processes.
  • Psychophysiology thinking and speach. Aphasia.
