- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to get students acquainted with the orthographic norm of present-day Czech and to practise the knowledge systematically. Attention will be paid to purely orthographical issues (capitalization) as well as to issues relating to morphology (the usage of i/y) and syntax (the usage of i/y in predicates, punctuation). Another aim of the course is to get orientated in orthographical issues that often cause problems to language users, in works providing codification of Standard Czech, in relevant internet sources (e.g. Internetová jazyková příručka Ústavu pro jazyk český AV ČR, v. v. i.). Every lesson is focused on explanations and intensive practising of a specific problematic issue.
