- Cíle předmětu
- The course aims to provide detailed information about autism spectrum disorders (ASD) - its classification, sub-categories, diagnostical criteria and brief history. The main focus is on current cognitive theories of autism and understanding the behavior of people with autism. In the end a discussion about possible treatments and different situation of ASD care in European countries will take place.
- Výstupy z učení
- In the end of the course students will be familiar with specific ways of treating, working or living with people with autism. They will get to know the diagnostic criteria and diagnostic tools and work with them, as well as they will get to know main modern theories of autism and some facts about the actual situation of care for people with ASD in Czech and Slovak republic. Students will be able to use the gained knowledge in real life situations.

- Lectures, discussion, 90 minutes, once a week.
- Metody hodnocení
- Students have to attend at least 80% of the lectures, fulfill 2 homework assignments (write two short essays) and finally participate in the discussion at the end of the semester.
