- Course objectives
- At the end of this course student obtains the basic knowledge from nuclear physics necessary to understand the function of nuclear reactors and power stations. The student also obtains the basic knowledge about nuclear fission of heavy nuclei, chain reaction and processes taken place in the reactor. He will have the survey of dosimetry, perspectives and risks of nuclear energetics.

- Elementary particles, atomic nuclei. Nuclear reactions and radioactivity. Interaction of particles with matter. Nuclear fission. Chain reaction. Nuclear reactor. Construction of nuclear reactor and powerstation. Dosimetry. Nuclear energetics, its perspectives and safety.
