- At the end of this course, students should be able to identify individual orders of insects and common insect species of our fauna. Students will be learn the ecological demands of individual taxa and species and inform about their biological and applied importance. Students also obtain knowledge about basic methods of field research in entomology.
- Syllabus
- The field course includes three days of field research at selected natural habitats in order to sample insects, to survey the site, identify and demonstrate the collected taxa and species. Boarder taxa groups are assign to individuals participants by means to be responsible for the list of recorded species at the study sites. During next two days, spend in the lab, students present characteristic species that were found from their taxonomical groups of interest. Students are introduces to basic principles of preparation, preservation and determination of insects.

Information on course enrolment limitations: Toto terénní cvičení je přednostně určeno srudentům 3. roku Bc. studia Zoologie, kteří mají absolvovaný nebo paralelně zapsaný kurz Bi6760 Základy entomologie. V případě nesplnění této prerekvizity je zápis možný až po dohodě s dr. Horsákem.
