- Course objectives
- The main aims of lectures from "Molecular Physiology of the Genome" lead to understanding of correlations between structure and function of chromatin. At the end of course, students should be able to understand the basic principles of higher order chromatin structure in the view of nuclear processes such as replication, transcription, splicing and DNA repair. Moreover, students should understand on how chromatin architecture is changed during pathophysiological process such as tumor cell transformation. Lectures from "Molecular Physiology of the Genome" pay an attention to epigenetic regulation of genome, including DNA methylation and histone modifications. Students should be able to explain relationship between histone signature and gene expression. Taken together, the chromatin biology is explained from the view of basic research and students should be familiarized with recent trends in this attractive filed of science.
