- I. Principles of MS II. Instrumentation: Sample introduction, Vacuum system, Ionization, Ion analysis. MS/MS and tandem MS. Collisional activation. Ion detection. III. Fragmentation: Metastable ions, methods of study. Nuclide ions, ion cluster. Fundamental fragmentation mechanisms. IV. Mass spectra and their use. Quantitation. V. Hyphenation of analytical techniques and MS: Data acquisition and analysis - repetitive scanning, TIC, mass and SIM chromatograms. GC/MS, HPLC/MS, CE/MS, ICP/MS.
