- Course objectives
- At the end of the course, students should be able to understand the major topics of Biochemistry I course: The structure, basic features and molecular function of the main components of living systems: Aminoacids, proteins, nucleic acids and lipids. They will be able to perform the basic calculations in thermodynamics as well as to understand the basics of enzymology.

- 1. Introduction. 2.-4. Aminoacids, peptides and proteins. 5. Test No.1. 6. Sugars. 7. Nucleids acids . 8. Lipids, phospholipids. 9. Test No.2. 10. Thermodynamics. 11. Enzymes, enzyme kinetics. 12. Test No.3.

- Teaching methods
- Seminar: Class discussion on the problematics, exercises, calculations.
- Assessment methods
- One lesson can be absent. Longer absence caused by illness must be apologized via Office for Studies. The credit will be obtained in the case of success in sectional tests written during the semester. Reperative tests will be focused on the complete content of the course.
