Course objectives
Lectures cover classical and the most important fields of interest in computer graphics. These are compared with current research results. Students should gain the purview of the key issues and research trends in computer graphics field. At the end of the course students
- will understand the theoretical concepts of modern computer graphics;
- will be able to judge and evaluate research and development trends in the field;
- will be able to analyze complexity of computer graphics algorithms;
- will be able to design complex graphics systems in various application areas.

  • Image sampling and reconstruction, alias, antialiasing.
  • Warping and morphing of raster images.
  • Textures.
  • Global illumination, rendering equation.
  • Surface reconstruction and simplification.
  • Direct rendering of volume data.
  • Real-time rendering techniques.
  • Terrain rendering.
  • Image based rendering.
  • Special modelling techniques, local and global deformations.
  • Subdivision surfaces.
  • Space subdivision and searching methods.
  • Collision detection.
