- Course objectives
- The aim of this seminar is to introduce fan audience in the context of fan studies (its history), typical practices of media fans, and participative culture in general.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will be able to: use their theoretical knowledge of fan studies; connect this knowledge with other contexts (media studies, cultural studies, pop-culture studies, TV studies etc.); know basic methodological approaches to study fans (and niche or subcultural audiences in general); participate in academic discussions

- theoretical preparations, discussions during seminars, group discussions, and projects - dialogue as a teaching approach
- Assessment methods
- During the semester, students are expected to read the recommended literature, be active in class, and do cooperative activities in class (fanart). All previous points are concluded with a final project = fan activism campaign or fan creation - video; the possibility of working in pairs (but it must be a bigger/more ambitious project); the topic of the project must be consulted and approved by the teacher beforehand.
