Course objectives

Laboratory practice supplements the practicals in clinical immunology subject. The students will get acquainted with organisation and practical the processing of the biological material from its reception to the final laboratory report. The students work under the supervision of experienced laboratory technicians and practically perform selected laboratory tests.

Syllabus

• Good laboratory praxis – principles of quality assurance and quality control in the clinical immunology laboratory. Standardization of immunoassays. National and international reference preparations. Problems of establishing of „normal or reference ranges“. Laboratory data logging. Interpretive comments on laboratory immunology reports.

Assessment methods

This is an active routine work in a clinical immunology laboratory. For civing a credit 90% participation is required.
