- Course objectives
- Subject is complementary to subject BLBC021p. At the end of the course student understands metodical principles and procedures used in clinical biochemistry for determination analytes and enzyme activities in various body fluids.Knows the principles of work with biological material. Is able to suggest and organize laboratory experiment. Interprets the result of laboratory test.

- Syllabus
- Handling biological materiál and cheical substances. Laboratory examinations. Blood collection and processing. --- Enzymic determination of blood plasma glucose. Using personal glucometer. Oral glucose tolerance test(oGTT). Urine test fro glucose and ketone bodies. Assay for glycated hemoglobin HbA1c. --- Enzymic method for serum cholesterol. Determination of blood cholesterol by Accutrend. Determination of blood lipids by Accutrend. Determination of HDL-/LDL-cholesterol. Calculation of LDL-cholesterol and derived parameters. --- Determination of catalytic concentration of ALT, AST in serum. Determination of catalytic concentration of ALP in serum. --- Determination of total bilirubin in serum. Urine test form bilirubin and urobilinogen. Determination of albumin in serum. --- Determination of total serum proteins. Determination of serum albumin. Elektrophoresis of serum proteins. Assay for CRP. Determination of serum IgE by ELISA method. --- Investigation of urine. Determination of creatinine in serum and urine. Determination of glomerular filtration from creatinine clearance. - Full attendance in all lessons (making up all missing and justified lessons), completion of all lab reports and handing them to the teacher till the given data. Obtaining of course-unit credits of practices is the pre-requisite for registration to the examination of Biochemistry I.
