Course objectives
Main objectives can be summarized as follows:
- to learn to use basic chemical knowledge
- to be able to explain ilustrate exploitation of chemical compounds and chemical reactions in daily life
Syllabus
  • Physiological active compounds
  • Pharmaceuticals (principle of influence, hazards)
  • Drugs (principle of influence, hazards)
  • So-called hard drugs and class b drugs
  • Toxicomania and its treatment possibility
  • Unwilling subjection to caffeine, nicotine and alcohol
  • - Chemistry and environmentalism
  • - Possibilities and resources of analysis of chemical compounds used in daily life
  • - Explosives: classification, application
  • - Amusing pyrotechnics
  • - Applied nuclear chemistry: analytical improvement, nuclear
  • - Chronology, industry improvement, medical and food-stuff industry improvement
  • - Selected electrochemical productions, hydrometallurgy, electrometallurgy of meltings, electroplating practice
  • - Selected chapters of photochemistry (photographic chemistry, photosynthesis, ultraviolet radiation biological significance)
