- Course objectives
- The main aim of the subject is an acquisition of complex survey on the studied field in the context of other musicological disciplines, making the acquaintance of a history of the field, significant personalities of it and the basic professional litarature. At the end of the course students should be able to work with information on music acoustics, systems of tuning, scales, intervals, chords and practically apply all theoretical knowledge.

- 1. Music pedagogy and music education in system of musicological disciplines. 2. Historiy of the field, significant personalities, literature 3. Methodological aspects of music pedagogy 4. Basics of music acustics / sound, tone, quality of tone, resonant tones, principles of tune, development and types of tune/ 5. Tone system /basic tone serie, tones with sharps or flats, relation of tone and semitone, enharmonic tones, diatonic and chromatic semitone/ 6. Note system, marks and abbreviations of note system, Italian terminology (expression, dynamics and agogics) 7. Scales- development and system /ancient, medieval church modes, major and minor, chromatics, pentatonics, whole-tone, gypsy, Bartók's and Messiaen's mods etc. / 8. Intervals/system, terms, turns, složené, enharmonické, consonant and disonant, canorous and noncanorous, typical and modificated/ 9. Chords- system /kinds, consonant and disonant, typical and modificated/ 10.Fifth chord /system, turns, ones in major and minor keys/ 11.Seventh chord/system, turns, typical and modificated/ 12.Function of chords, chord marks, cadences in major and minor scales
