Course objectives
The purpose of courses in the subjest Social policy is to map basic theoretical problems, ideas, general contexts and trends of progression in inquiry spheres of this branch of science. The basic line of studies represents process analysis of czech society transformation after the year. At the end of the course, the students will be able to: - Define the basic terms of the social policy. - Explain the basics and the structure of social policy as a part of the social sciences. - Outline the topical issues of the social policy. - Map all the possibilities of the topics covered based on own reading and experience. - Evaluate the importance of the topics covered for the theory and practice. - Express and formulate the positions and values in the framework of the social policy.
Syllabus
  • Conception and subject of social politics. Basic principles, aims, ideas of social politics. models of social politics. Social stratification and social security. Social help and social services. Eployement policy, health policy, family policy, housing policy, educational policy. Process of transformation of social policy in the Czech Republic. Social policy in chosen european countries.1989 and decription of sense, aim and results of social policy mechanisms.
