- Course objectives
- School education 2 aims to clarify key didactic terms, contents and processes of teaching and learning in the school classroom, categorisaion and interpretation of key didactic phenomena and formulate key didactic principles. It presents the theory and practice of (a) the school as an institution and organisation, (b) curriculum, and (c) classroom instruction - teaching and learning.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon finishing the course, the students are able: to use didactic terminology to describe, interpret and assess the processes of teaching and learning in the school classroom; to characterise the learning environment of the school classroom; to describe and explain curricular activities of theachers; set educational aims and objectives; illustrate various approaches to diagnosing pupils' cognitive and other dispositions.

- 1. The school as an institution and organisation. 2. The curriculum: aims and objectives of school education. 3. The curriculum: contents of school education, the theory of content transformation. 4. Teaching and learning: actors and processes, concepts and preconcepts. 5. The teached and the planning of instruction: taxonomy of educational aims and objectives. 6. Didactic analysis of educational content. Integration and croscurricular topics. 7. Content representation in teaching and learning. Developing learning tasks. 8. Teaching strategies, forms and approaches. 9. - 10. Practical activities of pupils. Problem teaching. Projects and cooperative learning. 11. Didactic tools and media. Textbooks. 12. Learning outcomes and their assessment. Formative feedback.
