Course objectives
Students will learn to work with different types of texts and apply their knowledge of interpreting methods to them. Students will be able to analyze the specifics of interpreting, be able to interpret from a sheet with preparation, as well as short formats using consecutive techniques.
Learning outcomes
After a theoretical introduction to the basic aspects of oral translation, students work with different types of texts in order to apply their knowledge of interpreting methods and analyse the specifics of this type of translation. During the course, students practise and deepen the habits necessary for the development of interpreting skills.

  • 1. Introduction to the theory of interpreting 2. Basics of consecutive interpreting (roles of interpreter and speaker, interpreting competences) 3. Basics of consecutive interpreting (adequacy and equivalence of translation, typical mistakes in interpreting) 4. Training in consecutive interpreting 5. Student presentations
